Conveniently located in the main street The Duke of Cornwall began her life in Broken Hill in 1886 as one of the first of many hotels to be built in this thriving mining town.

The Duke traded continuously as a pub up until the mid 1990‘s when she changed hands and was renamed Annexe Motel.

We purchased the building in July 2005 and returned her to her Duke of Cornwall title in April 2006.

Now no longer a pub and after undergoing a major renovation and refurbishment she is now a joy to visit. Offering a safe & secure environment for weary travelers the Inn has a homely feel with friendly care and warm hospitality.

Guests are all to enjoy a complimentary free hot & cold breakfast, served in our elegant Dining Room surrounded by crisp white table clothes and silver candelabras.

Renovated and redecorated in an historical theme, the Duke of Cornwall Inn is now more resplendent than she ever has been. The halls are aglow with Chandeliers & ornate Ceiling Roses as well as Antique Furniture and Bric a Brac. The walls are adorned with Artifacts, historical Articles and Pictures. The original polished timber floors feature a carpet runner throughout the entire building.

The Inn has 9 guest bedrooms, all with Ensuite bathrooms and an elegant Dining Room.

The guest rooms have Queen sized beds, reverse cycle air conditioning, remote control TV, tea & coffee facilities as well as crockery, cutlery, an iron & ironing board and hairdryer.

The Inn has 3 ground floor rooms with quick access to the courtyard area, and 6 upstairs guest rooms with balconies on 2 sides.

The courtyard area has 2 BBQ’s, a TV, a Beer Fridge and is covered by a shade sail. There are comfortable tables & chairs, providing a quiet place for a BBQ Tea, or just to sit and relax with a beer or a cuppa.

The balconies are always popular, giving smokers a nice place to sit to be comfortable, or a charming spot for cheese, biscuits and a nice bottle of red. From the balconies listen to the local bird life or watch one of the most spectacular sunsets you will ever see!

The Inn is only 3 blocks from the Post Office and is located on the same block as the Visit or Information Centre.
